SCUBA DIVING

Dive into the unparalleled wonders of Palau’s pristine waters with Solitude Gaia Palau, where each underwater excursion is a gateway to a realm of awe-inspiring marine biodiversity.  As you explore the vibrant coral gardens and thriving ecosystems, our experienced dive team ensures a seamless and unforgettable scuba diving adventure.  From the famed Blue Corner to the enchanting German Channel, Solitude Gaia Palau promises an immersive journey beneath the surface, where the marine wonders of Palau come to life in every breathtaking dive.

7 Night Itinerary (approx. 18 dives):

DAY 1 marks the start of an exhilarating adventure aboard Solitude Gaia, and we are eagerly looking forward to welcoming you on board. Transfers from the airport or your hotel will be organized throughout the day.  If you are staying in Koror or Malakal hotels, our crew will coordinate with your hotel front desk to provide you with the pick-up time.  For those already exploring the area, we aim to meet around 6 pm. If you arrive after midnight on day 1, our crew will meet you at the airport and arrange transportation to Solitude Gaia.  The journey from the airport to the embarkation point typically takes about 30 minutes.

Please note that embarkation transfers will conclude at 10 am on Day 2 as Solitude Gaia will begin its voyage from Malakal Harbour.  Once you step on board Solitude Gaia, our crew will extend a warm welcome to you and guide you through the Check-In process and the Welcome Onboard briefing.

The disembarkation day marks the end of our trip, and it’s always bittersweet to say goodbye to our new friends.  Even though this is a NO DIVE DAY, we strive to make this last day a memorable and enjoyable experience for everyone.  Disembarkation is scheduled for 5 pm, and we will arrange transfer services to the airport or your next accommodation.  On the day of disembarkation, a hearty breakfast will be provided, and you can choose to participate in the complimentary tour/s to Jellyfish Lake, Milky Way or Rock Islands by speed boat (entry permit fee not included).

Upon returning to Solitude Gaia, you will receive a briefing on your bill and payment options during the check-out process.  We accept cash in USD or credit card payments (please inform us in advance if you plan to use a credit card, and note that a facility fee applies). Late check-out until 11:59 pm is subject to availability and an additional charge, which covers dinner as well.  For the current rate, please inquire with us.

Special dives included with Palau Gaia:

  • Jellyfish Lake - Complimentary Milky Way, Rock Island & Jelly Fish Lake Tour on day of Disembarkation (unless closed to any visits by the authorities).

    The Milky Way, Rock Islands, and Jellyfish Lake tour is a premier full-day aquatic excursion in Palau.  Highlights include swimming with harmless golden jellyfish at Jellyfish Lake, navigating the scenic Rock Islands, and applying a therapeutic white limestone clay mask at the Milky Way lagoon, typical price is $285 - $350 (depending on the operator), ours is complimentary.

  • World War II Koror/Peleliu Tour - During this tour in Peleliu, you will have the opportunity to explore the historic sites of the war and witness the remnants of the battle that took place on the island.
  • Bumphead Parrotfish Spawning - October 18 falls on a new moon, so there may be an opportunity to witness the Bumphead Parrotfish spawning during this itinerary.  Spawning aggregations typically occur 3 to 4 days before the new moon.

Deposit: $1000 to reserve your space (deposit is non-refundable)

Subsequent Payment: $1000 is due October 5, 2024

Final Payment: Balance is due on July 5, 2025

Passport requirement – must have 6 months remaining until expiration date upon return to USA.

REEF SAFE SUNSCREEN

Some sunscreen ingredients are not safe for corals; these include oxybenzone.  Research indicates that these chemicals can cause DNA damage to corals, promote viruses in corals, and contribute to the bleaching of corals.  So that we can help protect our reefs, we encourage our guests to choose and use a sunscreen that is “coral safe”.
