North Sulawesi – Siladen Resort & Spa + Lembeh Resort: June 4-14, 2022

Description

Indonesia is still unavailable for international travel so we are re-scheduing this fabulous trip to June 2022.  Stay tuned, it will happen.

SILADEN RESORT & SPA

Built in 2001, Siladen Resort & Spa is an exclusive boutique dive resort located on Pulau Siladen, a lush tropical island in the heart of the Bunaken National Marine Park, a protected ocean area known worldwide for the richness of its waters and epicenter of global marine biodiversity. Since the first guest in 2003 the international resort offers guests the most attractive, exquisite and secluded comfort in Sulawesi.

Located on the western side of the island on a 300 meters long stretch of white coral reef beach facing the Manado Tua volcano, guests enjoy breathtaking sunsets all year round.

DIVING

The Bunaken National Marine Park, where the Indian and Pacific Oceans meet, is composed of the islands of Siladen, Bunaken, Manado Tua, Mantehage and Nain. It covers a total area of over 890 square kilometers, hosts 390 different species of corals, is a center of marine global biodiversity and ranks among the top diving destinations in the world.  It offers unforgettable diving and snorkeling.

The Marine Park is known for its rich macro life and is mostly characterized by wall dives rich in hard and soft corals. Pelagics such as reef sharks (black tip, white tip), eagle rays, barracudas, tuna, napoleon wrasses and turtles are also a common sight. There are over 50 dives sites within easy reach of the Resort. All dive sites around the 5 islands of the Marine Park are wall dives whereas dive sites alongside the coast of North Sulawesi are mostly dark sandy slopes with corals.

Diving Conditions

Visibility is generally good year round: low visibility approximately 20m, average 30m occasionally up to 40m. During the year the average water temperature is 28 Celsius. As currents change in intensity according to the tides, to ensure safe and comfortable diving to all guests, all dives are drift dives.

We recommend the use of full length 3mm wetsuits. The use of gloves or knives is not allowed in the Bunaken National Marine Park. For safety reasons we only allow diving from boats and with a dive guide.

LEMBEH RESORT

A luxurious dive resort in the heart of Lembeh Strait. Enjoy refined services while exploring the rich waters of Indonesia. Lembeh Resort is nestled away in a private cove with a wealth of exotic flora and fauna in a central part of Lembeh Island.

Perched slightly above the beautiful waters of Lembeh Strait and surrounded by lush tropical gardens Lembeh Resort was built to inconspicuously blend into the natural landscape. Westerly views of ancient extinct volcanoes and spectacular sunsets await you.

DIVING WITH “CRITTERS AT LEMBEH RESORT”

Dive into Lembeh’s rich muck diving sites – the Lembeh Strait is world famous for it’s abundance of rare and unusual marine life. This is one of the most unique dive destinations on earth and with our leading Dive Center, Critters at Lembeh Resort, you’ll experience diving in Lembeh in luxury.

Lembeh isn’t just home to frogfish, it’s home to 8 different species of frogfish, 12 species of octopus, numerous crustacean species that cannot be found anywhere else on earth, 3 species of pygmy seahorse, countless numbers of nudibranch species and new discoveries are continuously being made. Some of Lembeh’s most iconic species include the Hairy Frogfish, Pontohi Pygmy Seahorse, Wunderpus, Mandarin Fish, Mimic Octopus, Rhinopias Scorpionfish, Flamboyant Cuttlefish, and the Blue Ring Octopus.

DIVE PACKAGE FOR NO. SULAWESI (SILADEN + LEMBEH)

This dive package at Siladen Resort & Spa (Bunaken National Marine Park) and Lembeh Resort (home of Lembeh Straits). I was here in 2013, and it’s an incredible pleasure to return to the two best dive resorts in this region, a region that has many great dive resorts. We’ll sample the most pristine reefs in this part of the world in Banaken National Marine Park, then see the world’s most exotic critters in Lembeh Straits.

We’ll do 5 nights at each resort with all meals, and 11 dives at each resort (3 days of 3-tank boat dives and 1 day of 2-tank boat dives). Our transfer day will likely be a boat trip with a 2-tank boat dive in another region (Bangka) along the way (also dove in 2013). So, the programmed dives are 24, which is enough to dive one of the greatest dive regions in the world, but it also leaves time to relax, by the pool, at the spa, or join some incredible afternoon excursions offered. But, for the diehard diver, and I’ll be right there with you, there’s a House Reef at Lembeh, and this is not to be missed for a few dives and a night dive!?!

Dive package includes:
  • 5 Nights Garden View Rooms at Siladen Resort (June 4-9)
  • 3 meals daily
  • 3 days of 3-tank boat dives

Complete package rates start at $2,935 USD per person for a Garden View Room at both resorts. Prices are based on double occupancy. Upgrades are available at both resorts for those that respond early, due to availability. Extra nights are optional and available as an upgrade at Lembeh.
