When you’re not in the water, enjoy delicious meals and tasty tropical drinks in the Clubhouse. Be entertained by talented local musicians and dancers.

  • You’ll be cool and comfortable in one of our spacious air-conditioned over-the-water bungalows and cabanas. Relax in the hammock on your private deck at the edge of Roatan’s incredible underwater realm. Soak in the tropical sun and cooling sea breeze as you rest and unwind.

Roatan’s Scuba Diving Paradise
Light years away from hectic schedules and everyday worries, CoCo View Resort is perfectly located at the reef’s edge on Roatan Honduras. Scuba diving and snorkeling are the main attractions for our guests, and we have refined our operation over many years, earning our reputation as one of the top dive resorts in the Caribbean.

Located at the water’s edge, our Clubhouse is the social center of the resort, with a large games room, well stocked bar, lending library, and video viewing area. Wholesome and hearty buffets are also served at the Clubhouse.

If you want some privacy and peace and quiet, you can retire to the deck on the upper level of the Clubhouse or relax into one of the hammocks dotted around the resort. Our oceanfront rooms and over-the-water cabanas and bungalows also provide a great place to unwind and soak up the tropical sun.

Whether you’re exploring our “Front Yard,” scuba diving at one of the island’s best dive sites, making new friends, or enjoying the onsite amenities and off-site excursions, we invite you to come see for yourself why our resort on Roatan has the highest return rates of any dive resort on earth! In fact, over 1600 guests have been there five times or more.

Roatan’s Most Returned to Dive Resort
Founded in 1982 by Bill and Evelyn Evans, CoCo View is one of Roatan’s best diving resorts and has steadily grown and improved since then. Over the past 30 plus years, we have continued to develop the tradition of laid-back comfort and excellent diving that our guests have come to expect. Modern upgrades to our guest amenities and diving services have made this resort the most returned to dive resort in the world, and we are always refining our diving operation to make sure it is the ultimate in diver comfort and enjoyment.

Resort Location
CoCo View Resort is located on Roatan, the largest of the Honduras Bay Islands and an extension of the Sierra de Omoa mountain range.

Roatan is situated 35 miles off the north coast of Honduras and is home to the world’s second largest barrier reef. The island is long and narrow, 28 miles in length, with a total land mass of 49 square miles. The mountainous backbone is surrounded by extensive coral reefs, and fishing villages and towns dot the coastline.

Once you arrive on the island, CoCo View can be found on the protected south shore of Roatan, where coral reefs are situated in shallow water. And because of our location on the windward side of Roatan, the resort enjoys an almost constant gentle breeze from the prevailing winds of the Caribbean.

Dive Roatan’s Prince Albert Wreck

The Prince Albert, a 140 foot tanker, was intentionally sunk in 1985, right in the “Front Yard.” Originally owned by Nicaraguans, the tanker was used to transport Nicaragua war refugees to Roatan, where it was eventually stripped of valuables and left partially submerged.

Seeing the opportunity to turn this hazard into a new diving site for the island and his guests, Bill Evans, CoCo View’s founder, secured the necessary government permission to transport, and with the help of Doc Radawski, sink the tanker in front of the resort.

Currently sitting upright in 65 feet of water, the tanker is in remarkably good shape, with many years of algae and soft coral growth covering its large hull. Many fish species also call the cavernous channels and hollows of the tanker home.

Experience this wreck as a drop-off dive from the boat on your way home, or as a shore dive directly off our beach. The wreck of the Prince Albert is also a very popular Roatan night dive.

Shark Diving
Sharks play an important role in the health of the marine ecosystem, helping control fish and marine mammal populations. So you don’t have to be an adrenaline junkie to scuba dive with Roatan’s sharks. Others have actually described their Roatan shark diving experiences as “awe-inspiring” and “surreal.”

During your shark diving excursion, you will dive with female Caribbean Reef Sharks among beautiful hard and soft corals at a depth of 60-70 feet. Clear visibility, usually reaching 80 feet or more, offers an excellent view of the sharks, which are typically 6-9 feet long and weigh several hundred pounds each.

After you’ve had time to observe the sharks, a snack of fish in a bucket is often presented to them at a safe distance from the diving group, where you can then watch the resulting feeding frenzy. The sharks are never handled or fed individually. When the sharks have dispersed, you will typically have time to move around and explore the site before returning to the boat.
