Founded in 1976, by renowned underwater environmentalist Captain Don Stewart, Captain Don’s Habitat has been in the forefront of environmentally sound developments on the island of Bonaire. His vision is also reflected in the design of the resort. From the low impact construction methods to the use of solar water heaters and energy saving devices, every detail has been designed to have the least possible impact on the local environment. The rooms and facilities are nestled in lush landscaping carefully designed to eliminate harmful runoff into the fragile marine Eco-system thriving right in front of Captain Don’s Habitat. Walking through the resort, one can truly appreciate a broad spectrum of the flora and fauna of Bonaire.
Dive with us
Captain Don’s Habitat Dive Operation is a PADI Gold Palm Resort and an SDI Diving Facility. It is centrally located within the resort complex for easy access from all rooms. We have three 1-tank boat departures daily, at 8.30 AM, 11 AM and 2 PM, to over 50 moored sights on our custom-built dive boats. Each mooring buoy is limited to 1 boat so you’ll have the reef all to yourself. Diving Rates are priced per person per day unless otherwise noted.
Total Diving Freedom has always been the concept at Captain Don’s Habitat. Over 50 world-class dives are within a 15-minute boat ride. Diving Freedom means 24 hours a day, 365 days a year with no rush or anxiety. Take a giant stride off our divers-only pier “baby dock” and you’re already looking at clusters of starlet coral, surrounded by colorful wrasse and gobies, and the drop-off starts in 30 feet, only a few kicks away. Shore diving is a must at Captain Don’s Habitat and around the island of Bonaire rated as the top shore diving destination in the world! Following accepted safe diving practices, you can grab a tank and go….whenever you want!

Deluxe Garden Room (King or 2-Queen)
Our deluxe garden pool-view rooms come with a king bed, brand new with a patio! They are fully air-conditioned rooms with a lovely view of the freshwater pool. Each room offers a bedroom with a king bed, desk, cable TV, refrigerator, microwave, coffee maker, hairdryer, laptop safe, full bath w/tub, telephone, and a balcony or patio with comfortable furniture, and modern decor. These rooms also have free wireless internet.

PIZZA TEMPLE
Authentic Italian thin crust pizza baked to perfection in a traditional stone oven. Choose from a wide assortment of toppings, create your own or try one of the chef’s creations. Great for that in-between dive craving or take away for the perfect midnight snack. It's simply the best pizza on the island. Open Daily from 3:00pm to 10:00pm.
COCKTAIL BAR
Whether watching your favorite football team, divers coming and going from the boats, or one of our beautiful sunsets…the Cocktail Bar is a perfect place to review the day's events or plan tomorrow… all the while enjoying the company of your fellow vacationers and the wonderful drinks our friendly bartenders have come up with for that day. The Cocktail Bar is a favorite watering hole for guests and locals alike… you never know whom you’re going to meet there!

PACKAGE PRICING:
Garden View Rooms (King or 2-Queen), Double Occupancy is $1300 per person.
Garden View Rooms (King or 2-Queen), Single Occupancy is $1780 per person.
For one-way transfer (airport to resort) - $28 extra.
For Upgraded rooms, or Non-diver rates, please inquire for rates.
The truck rentals are picked up and dropped off at the airport. Insurance is not included and is paid on the island.
Payment Schedule:
- Deposit: $300 to reserve your space (deposit is non-refundable)
- Final Payment: Balance is due on July 15, 2027
Passport requirement – must have 6 months remaining until expiration date upon return to USA.

REEF SAFE SUNSCREEN
Some sunscreen ingredients are not safe for corals; these include oxybenzone. Research indicates that these chemicals can cause DNA damage to corals, promote viruses in corals, and contribute to the bleaching of corals. So that we can help protect our reefs, we encourage our guests to choose and use a sunscreen that is “coral safe”.
